Advisory Period September 9 -- WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Hello superior creatures!

As you may have guessed by now, I'm not your usual kind of teacher. So today for our advisory activity, I want you to be able to answer the following: WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

And here's a little information to help you beguin formulating your answer:

On October 4, 2004, an historic event took place: the flight of a manned, re-usable space plane into earth orbit. Unlike the space shuttle, which often takes months to prepare for a flight, the plane (called SpaceShipOne) had orbited the earth just two weeks earlier. AND, this spaceplane was created by a private company called “Scaled Composites”, not the government. NOTE THAT THIS EVENT TOOK PLACE OVER FOUR YEARS AGO! Did you even know that it happened?

Recently, another company has been founded by this man. His name is Richard Branson, the company is called Virgin Galactic, and the goal is to make space flights as common and ordinary as regular flights by jets. The difference is that, instead of taking 4 or 5 hours to get to California, it might only take 15 minutes. Likewise, you could fly to Australia in an hour or two. That’s because you can fly much faster in space than through the air.

Let’s suppose that it’s 20 years from now, and you can fly anywhere in the world. Where would you go? What would you do? Why? Please write in Microsoft Word an essay of not less than three paragraphs of four complete sentences each which answers these questions. PLEASE BE SCHOOL APPROPRIATE! -- Mr. L
